
The Academy at Paul Louis Arena is proud to announce the addition of two new instructors Nick Unger and Brian Bailey. Both Unger and Bailey come over to the academy with lots of experience and knowledge of the sport.
Nick has over 15 years of coaching experience, 7 in the NCAA at Nichols College and The College at Brockport. After his career as a player at Nichols College, Nick joined the coaching staff at Nichols during the 2007-2008 season. Many of Nicks’ former players have moved on to play professional hockey. Also, Nick, was the GM of Puckmasters Hockey Training in Marlborough, MA where he developed and executed lessons, clinics, and camps for players and goaltenders of all ages and ability levels. Nick has performed over 1,000 private lessons in his coaching career.Currently, Nick is the Head Coach of the Rochester Junior Monarchs NCDC USPHL team.
Brian played high school hockey both JV and Varsity for Fairport High School. After graduating in 2010 he moved to Boston to play Jr's for the South Shore Kings. Brian then started coaching JV hockey for Fairport in 2012 and won a championship with that team in 2015. After that, he moved up to work with the Varsity program at Fairport in 2015 helping them reach the sectional finals the same season. Currently he is the assistant coach for the Rochester Jr Monarchs NCDC and Premier teams.
Today, both Nick and Bailey are available for private lessons! Brian Bailey is able to do all different levels of player lessons, defense or forward. Unger can teach all positions, including goalie.
